About this Role
Blue Building Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Tile Setter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing a variety of tile materials including ceramic, porcelain, marble, and granite for both residential and commercial projects. The Tile Setter will ensure that all installations meet the highest standards of quality and precision.
Key Responsibilities
Tile Installation: Measure, cut, and install tiles on walls, floors, and other surfaces.
Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying adhesives or mortar.
Layout and Design: Plan and execute tile layouts based on design specifications and blueprints.
Grouting and Sealing: Apply grout between tiles and seal surfaces to ensure durability and waterproofing.
Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs on damaged or cracked tiles and re-grout as necessary.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Customer Service: Interact with clients in a professional manner, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or questions.
Requirements
Experience:Â Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Tile Setter or in a similar role.
Education:Â High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in tiling is a plus.
Skills:
Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing various types of tiles.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design specifications.
Strong attention to detail and precision.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Knowledge of different adhesives, grouts, and sealants.
Physical Requirements:Â Ability to lift heavy materials, kneel, bend, and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
Licenses/Certifications:Â Valid driver's license; Tile Setter certification is a plus.
Tools:Â Familiarity with tiling tools and equipment.
