About this Role
Blue Building Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Glazier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in glass installation, repair, and maintenance for various applications including windows, doors, storefronts, and skylights. The Glazier will work on both residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Glass Installation: Measure, cut, and install glass for windows, doors, skylights, storefronts, and other structures.
Repair and Replacement: Remove damaged or broken glass and replace it with new glass, ensuring proper fit and seal.
Sealing and Weatherproofing: Apply sealants and weatherproofing materials to ensure glass installations are secure and leak-proof.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the type and size of glass required for specific installations.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Customer Service: Interact with clients in a professional manner, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or questions.
Requirements
Experience:Â Minimum 1 year of experience as a Glazier or in a similar role.
Education:Â High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in glazing is a plus.
Skills:
Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing glass.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and precision.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices.
Physical Requirements:Â Ability to lift heavy glass panels, work at heights, and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
Licenses/Certifications:Â Valid driver's license; Glazier certification is a plus.
Tools:Â Familiarity with glazing tools and equipment.
