About this Role
Blue Building Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry work for various construction and renovation projects, including framing, installing structures, and finishing tasks. The Carpenter will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Framing and Structural Work: Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames.
Installation: Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, cabinetry, and molding.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, materials, and procedures.
Material Selection: Choose and evaluate the correct materials for specific tasks, ensuring quality and durability.
Precision Cutting: Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials accurately using hand and power tools.
Repair and Maintenance: Repair and maintain existing structures, ensuring stability and safety.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
Requirements
Experience:Â Minimum 1 years of experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role.
Education:Â High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in carpentry is a plus.
Skills:
Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and sanders.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and precision.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Knowledge of different types of wood, materials, and carpentry techniques.
Physical Requirements:Â Ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
Licenses/Certifications:Â Valid driver's license; Carpentry certification is a plus.
Tools:Â Familiarity with carpentry tools and equipment.
