About this Role
Blue Building Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Bricklayer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laying bricks, concrete blocks, and other types of building materials to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures. The Bricklayer will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Bricklaying: Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other types of building materials in mortar to construct and repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures.
Mixing Mortar: Prepare and mix mortar or grout and spread it using trowels to bind building materials.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and building plans to determine specifications and materials required.
Surface Preparation: Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
Alignment and Leveling: Ensure structures are level, plumb, and in alignment using levels, plumb bobs, and measuring tools.
Repair Work: Remove damaged bricks and mortar, repair and replace them with new materials as needed.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
Requirements
Experience:Â Minimum 1 years of experience as a Bricklayer or in a similar role.
Education:Â High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in masonry is a plus.
Skills:
Proficiency in laying bricks, concrete blocks, and other building materials.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building plans.
Strong attention to detail and precision.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Knowledge of different types of bricks, mortar, and building materials.
Physical Requirements:Â Ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
Licenses/Certifications:Â Valid driver's license; Bricklayer certification is a plus.
Tools:Â Familiarity with bricklaying tools and equipment.
